CABIN PRICES FOR 2025 TO BE KEPT AT THE SAME  VALUE AS 2024. DON'T MISS OUT ON THE MOST POPULAR WEEKS.

The Cabin

Set at the top of the Harcombe Valley and formally known as Harcombe Bottom it is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only 3 miles from the lovely coastal town of Lyme Regis and 2 miles from the Devon market town of Axminster. The cabin is approached down a single track to a secluded field bordered by a stream on one side and open land on the other providing a secluded position and a place of tranquillity. The accommodation is a bespoke build and sleeps up to 4 people. A downstairs bedroom can be made up for two single beds or a Kingsize double and the mezzanine floor has another Kingsize bed. The main living area combines the kitchen, dining and seating all on the Ground Floor as is the newly equipped modern bathroom. Large glazed doors lead out onto a sizeable decked area where al fresco meals can be enjoyed around the garden furniture and using the gas BBQ. During the colder months the Cabin becomes a cosy retreat and has electric radiators backed up by a wood burning stove (first load of logs provided free). Free Wi-Fi and a small LCD TV provides free to air DTV. There is a smart DAB radio to which you can stream your own music via Bluetooth or listen to internet radio. A free App downloaded to your phone or tablet allows you to control the vibe. The cabin is equipped with an under counter refrigerator/ice box, dual fuel cooker with double oven, microwave oven and electric kettle and toaster plus a well equipped kitchen. All you could need for that home from home feel while enjoying a rural setting. There is dedicated parking for two cars only within 25Mts of the front door. It should be noted that we are in a valley and therefore uneven and sloping ground is the norm.

The Location

Harcombe is an area rich in a multitude of diverse activities for young and old alike. There are numerous walking trails within easy access the most notable being the South West Coastal Path and the Liberty Trail. Plus numerous smaller footpaths criss crossing the Axe and Marshwood Valleys leading to exploration of iron age forts such as Pilsden Pen, Lewesden Hill and Lamberts Castle. Or walk the Coastal Path to Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast with magnificent views of Lyme Bay.
For the foodies you can chose from a huge range of establishments with excellent pub dining and small family run restaurants to Mark Hix Oyster and Fish House and River Cottage both close by. But if eating in is your style then Millers Farm shop at Kilmington and Felicitys Farm Shop at Morecombelake will both provide first class local and international produce that will not disappoint. And for the fishy fiends among you there is the Wet Fish Shop at the famous Cobb end of Lyme Regis or Samways at West Bay both providing all manor of fresh fish and seafood.
Fossil hunting is a popular pastime for the experienced and first timers. The beaches between Lyme Regis and Charmouth are renowned for the amazing finds dating back 200 million years and hence why the coastline between Swanage and Exmouth is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and known as the Jurassic Coast. There are guided tours which will provide you with all the historical and geological facts as you hunt for that special find or just wander the beaches at your own pace. But beware the cliffs and tides can be dangerous. Visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre for information and advice.
For writers and film lovers Lyme Regis and beyond has been a favourite locality from Georgian times and Jane Austen to the present and our own John Fowles. From Persuasion to The French Lieutenants Woman this seaside town has been the backdrop and inspiration for some of the worlds greatest novelists. Lovers of TV Series can also travel to West Bay, the location for both Nick Berry's late 90's series Harbour Lights and more recently the critically acclaimed Broadchurch starring Olivier Coleman and David Tennant.
From stunning countryside and coastline to activities galore there is something for everyone here and its diversity will want to make you come back again and again.
